Subject: Who Defends Flores?????

Last time we used 5 different players to defend Flores. While we won't stop him, the key should be to control him..... and especially try not to foul him..... thats an automatic 2 points. Here are the candidates:

Goode - can cover without fouling, and bother him on the dribble, but Flores can probably tak him to the hoop easier than any other defender.

Kudjo - Probably the best physical matchup as far as size and quickness, but Kudjo must control his propensity to foul.

Todd - has the quickness, but a tough matchup for a freshman. Todd's not used to covering the teams top scorer.

Bell - While Bell is a frosh, I think he has shown that he is very skilled on the defensive end. Has previous success vs Bizzard. Height anf log arms could give Flores trouble. But don't think Bell is 100% stamina wise.

Maxwell - Max said he played Flores tough last time. Again the long arms is a plus, but being a frosh is a negative. Maxnot used to playing guards, so this is an unknown.

Delfico - Nick did a good job last time in denying Flores the ball, so he could be used in that capacity. But once Flores gets the ball, he has a distinct quickness advantage or Delfico.

IMO, Kudjo will start and initially cover him, but I think Bell and Delfico will also get quiite a bit of time on defense.

Last time they tried to defend him with their smaller
faster players, which didn't work. Would like to see a
combination of Maxwell, Delfico, and Bell thrown at him. It
would give Flores a different look, as Delfico only played
him toward the very end of the game, and Bell did not play
him at all.

Is it in the TOT bible that we only play man to man defense? Has anyone ever heard of a zone or box in one defense? It's always good to play harder, but it also helps to play smarter...
