Subject: About that reality check from redsea.

There is a ton of truth contained in your post on the Siena board. While there are the Duke's of the world, most D1 programs do follow a cycle. Maybe 7 years ago it was the Manhattan cycle. Then the Iona cycle. Then a Siena cycle. Quite clearly, this may be the Fairfield portion of the cycle within the MAAC. Your overdue and earning your time in that spotlight.

At the risk of sounding too "warm and fuzzy", I agree with you from the perspective, a strong Fairfield is good for the MAAC. The conference would be in great shape if three or four teams strived every year to win an aggressive OOC schedule. Imagine the MAAC with THREE teams carrying a double digit rpi! Iona, Siena and I think Marist are actively reloading their programs and should fall in "lock step" with Fairfield and Manhattan. The MAAC could become very interesting.

And perhaps of slightly less importance? If anyone in the Albany area failed to recognize Fairfield and it's athletic portfolio, they are not wondering anymore. That win last nite, I feel, is the type of event that just builds rivalry. Great for everyone although, I'd rather take the Siena win in a heartbeat.

It'll be tough to take on that Stag team in Bridgeport and should we lose, here's hoping you have to put us away a third time come March.

Just find away to keep O'Toole of the court:-)
