That certainly was a winnable game, so you have to look at the reasons why they lost. Tough not to blame coaching.
Things of concern are basics like a few games ago when we took a lead and got caught celebrating and gave up a layup. Tonight, it was the “don’t touch the ball inbound pass so the clock won’t start” fiasco, when Marist just steals the ball.
Those things are just so basic. Frustrating.
The shame is that we actually had some talent and depth and couldn’t get past a very beatable team.
I think we all know deep down the administration doesn’t really care about sports as much as a handful of die hards do. It’s a lost cause cheering for NU, but if it’s your school, what can you do?
I am lucky I don’t live close and just follow more casually from a distance. Back in the 70’s when I was there, I cared far too much about it. It would be great to see us win the MAAC and make the dance again, but, frankly, I don’t see it happening.
