In reply to: NUSuperfan 's message, "Creighton" on Friday, March 15, 12:02:23pm

Creighton is a well oiled machine that has everything running from top to bottom. Awesome administration, coaching, recruiting and a top notch arena, although not at their construction.

Everything Creighton has going for it NU doesn't possess. For what NU has to work with, I don't think this season was a failure. The portal is doing what we knew it would from it's inception. I like GP and what he brings to the school and the program. He's just going to have to have some luck finding the right players who can develop into a winning team.

Every coach or assistant in the country knows that NU is a very tough sell and will always be a training ground for young coaches or for a specific kind of veteran coach.

Based on all of the things we have working for us and for most that we do not, I think NU is pretty much maxing out of their ability to field competitive teams.

Very good synopsis of Niagara's situation, Joe.

For it's relative size and scope, a Catholic basketball university smack in the Midwest is something special. McDermott and his staff can really recruit. The thing about Creighton is that they have a LOT of people who have a LOT of money, and that helps. It's a top shelf program.
