This is the best point I have seen in all these discussions...And a point that is very troubling for mid major schools.

Most smaller schools do not have tons of resources to draw from. If schools are approaching donors to in essense subsidize an athletes tenure on a team, a tenure that could be just a year, will that donor also support capitol campaigns?

For many schools the only they can get students to come is having those students (and their parents) take out life altering loans.

Would it not be best for these schools to subsidize actual students? Especially when the money paid to the athletes likely won't even move the needle towards a top 25 ranking or an NCAA championship?

Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big 12, etc. schools are massive. The donor pool is extensive. I am thinking of that shot every other year of the South Bend airport when USC is town. A couple hundred private jets...

Sadly guys, nothing will change. The eventual terminus of this all is total ruin and a fundamental reset. Kind of like running a War Game simulation. Once everything is destroyed the game and scenarios reset.

Why not pay every athlete the SAME amount of money with the NCAA putting up a percentage and the university the other?

Conference winner now loses out on NIT bids. My source says the dismantling is well underway. All about $$$$ with no illusions.
