In reply to: NUSuperfan 's message, "NIL, Portal, & Conference Anomie" on Monday, March 18, 01:58:37am

1. Get Rid of the NIL: The kids will still continue to play college basketball & football.

2. Get Rid of the Portal: The coaches and their staffs should join in unity to
fight against the NCAA in all manner and cause to
right the ship, and end the Portal.

3. Conference Alignment: All NCAA Div. 1 programs should sign a legally binding
document of allegiance to a particular conference,
league, or association for a minimum period of 25
years to restore stability re: the athletic climate.

You do realize that the NCAA fought against NIL and lost in court right? Eligibility after a 2nd transfer? Fighting that as well but under a temporary injunction to allow unlimited transfers and the thought is that the NCAA is likely to lose that in court as well. Don’t act as though NIL and immediate eligibility is something the NCAA wants, it is something the courts mandated. Saw that students at Coastal Carolina are paying over $3000 of their tuition to subsidize athletics (which presumably includes paying toward others tuition). At some point people will call that out.

Love your proposed solutions to the current fiasco, Soup, but the chances of any of those happening are nil (pun intended).
