Should be an exciting match up the other board is looking forward to for a paycheck....A Final Four team vs a team plunked off the Portal with about an hour playing together.

It’s hard to forget the roar of the Cameron Crazies. Few college basketball experiences rival playing at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium. Greg Paulus knows better than anyone else as he prepares to coach the Niagara men’s basketball team against his alma mater this season.
While the Purple Eagles work to solidify their 2025-26 schedule, they announced Monday that they’ll participate in the Brotherhood Run multiple-team event on Nov. 20-21 at Duke.
For Paulus, it’ll be a return to the school where he played from 2005-09. His final three seasons overlapped with current Duke coach Jon Scheyer, while the other team participating in the event, Howard, is coached by fellow Duke alumnus Kenneth Blakeney.

“There is nothing like playing for Duke University and being a part of the Brotherhood,” said Paulus, who helped the Blue Devils to three ACC titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances during his time in Durham, North Carolina. “Duke is home, and the experiences and people shaped me as a person, leader and competitor.”
For a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference school like Niagara, it’s a financial boon to play in events hosted by Power Four teams, with schools receiving payouts that help support other portions of their athletic departments.
But as Duke is coming off a Final Four appearance and projects by most outlets to open the 2025 campaign in or near the top 10, the early season match up will be a notable challenge for the Purple Eagles.
That doesn’t concern Paulus, who guided the Purple Eagles to an 11-20 record in his seventh season at Niagara.
“Our program wants to play against NCAA Tournament teams and the top teams in the country,” Paulus said in a Niagara press release. “Howard is a NCAA Tournament program, and Duke is the best program in college basketball. This experience for our university, program and team will be special.”
