AM, glad to have you aboard on the Blue Board!

There've been minor runs on supplies so far here on the West Coast: propane, flashlights and batteries, water, electrical generators, and canned goods mostly. The banks say that some people are withdrawing a little extra money, but it's no big deal. Some banks here will even be open for a few hours on New Year's Day just to show their humanitarian nature.

The 7/11s have made a big deal on the local news about how they've "overstocked" batteries and water and such "just in case". Just in case folks want to pay severely over-inflated prices, I suspect. That's okay. The ones who buy that stuff will complain, but they'll have stuff they want or need that they wouldn't have had otherwise.

All is going fairly smoothly so far around here as far as I can tell. The main thing is that the Net and the Blue Board are still up, but voy I know has been a little shaky the past few days. So have some other boards and sites.

I've taken your advise and stocked up on zip lock bags in case my barf bags run out as I'm watching CNN's commentary on the wonderful new Millennium that's sweeping across the wondrous globe. The BBC's a little better; the limies are a more practical sort, I dare say. I'll switch over to them as I get low on barf bags. GF
