I often wonder if I wouldn't be a whole lot better off if I didn't listen to, watch or read the news at all. It's kind of a moot point since I'm essentially a news nut. I read 2 papers, Times Mag, and Newsweek, listen to the news on the radio in the car, at work and at home and watch it on the tube when I get the chance. I even have the MS-NBC Newspage as my homepage. I am sick.

Also, I guess capitalism is fairly inhumane, being that it forces self-initiative upon so many. And it compels socialism to occasionally increase freedom. :) GF
