Subject: What is it?

I have what I think is a coin or a medallion although it is a little thin for a medallion with what I believe is “Johnny Appleseed” on one side and An American Congress building on the flip side. Have you any information on exactly what it is. If you require more information I can send you photos. I was told it dates from around 1712 AD.
