Wow, so much for the thing appearing "at the end of the year." But thanks muchly, Gils, accolades always appreciated.

Now the question is: what do I do with my check? I always planned on donating the money to a charity in Bodge's name or to Kent (if he was still in need) but now I need to make a call on that. Any ideas on what to do with the money?

Mike

Mike,

Send the money to the American Cancer Society. They use donations for all manner of things, research, but also support for families and patients who are ill. They are a bastion of strength for anyone going through the hell which is this disease. You can donate in Bodge's name and have a card sent to Kent if you wish. I received a few cards from co-workers who donated when I lost my friend in March this year.

I also donated in her name. Their website is very easy to find.

If you want more info, let me know.

Aimes

Nice article, kudos!

I think the best thing you could do would be to donate directly to a hospital pediatric oncology ward, or children's cancer group. Bodge so loved children. You have to be very careful of donating to the big guys - only 1 percent of what they make actually has to go the the "cause".

I heard there was also a couple of funds going to build her a memorial. There is one being built at her beloved spot in Wisconsin, somewhere. There was a post backstage at KRF maybe someone will remember it, and post it here.

How do we get copies???

Mike, as far as the money is concerned, I do not know if Kent still is in need. I think donating to the American Cancer Society is grand!

Thanks for your effort, concern, and dignity!

Much love,
Heidi

Thanks for the suggestions thus far, everyone, keep 'em coming!

As for getting copies, aside from ordering directly from the magazine (www.renaissancemagazine.com), I'd say keep your eyes peeled in the magazine sections of your local Borders and Barnes & Noble stores. They usually stock the magazine (often next to the fantasy and sci-fi fiction magazines for some reason, but suffice to say those stores are more likely to carry RM than most).

And thank you Heidi for attaching the word "dignity" to my name...so rare that happens...

Aww, someone beat me to it. I just got my copy today and thought the article was beautifully written.

Also, if you're lucky enough to live next to a Newsbreak, they carry RM (and every other magazine under the sun apparently)

Anne
