Subject: Something to make you feel old for Halloween

Remember those cheesy old Ben Cooper Halloween costumes? The ones that basically consisted of a thin plastic mask that secured to your head by a flimsy rubber band and a plasticy body suit, more often depicting the character you were supposed to be rather than what that character wore? Go to the web site listed below and get ready to feel old, because it features all those old costumes.

I remember wearing the Spider-Man, C-3PO, Darth Vader, and (shudder) the Jaws costume during various years. The Jaws one was the wackiest...the mask was a riot because it looked like Bruce the Shark's head as it appeared on the poster, with the eyeholes in the middle of the mouth opening so it looked like you were peering out from the inky blackness of Bruce's gaping maw. Good times...

I love the "Baretta" costume. It's a good thing that this collection stops at the early 1990's; a present-day costume of Robert Blake would consist of handcuffs and a prison-orange jumpsuit...

I was well into college when the original Star Wars came out.

Wow, they have my Casper costume from around 63-64...yipe! I remember wearing it on an unusually warm Halloween, and having sweat pouring down the inside of the plastic mask...

I remember being Cinderella and Raggedy Anne, but the ones they have on that site don't look like the ones I remember wearing. (Of course, that could be my age kicking in). Remember those lovely little elastic strings that held the masks on? They usually let go somewhere around half way through trick or treating (or even at school during the day). And someone was sure to grab the back of it and snap it against your head....ouch!

Most of the time, though, my parents made my costumes for me. I remember being a butterfly, a jack-in-the-box and even a fish tank!
