Subject: Beer Run

And now, for those of you at CTRF who have had this song in your head since Sunday morning (and you know who you are!) the full lyrics to "Beer Run"!

Gregor and Lady Fair, feel free to adapt this to fit period format. See link below to find a song sample online.

Damn, I just felt the TMJ Extravaganza expand...

Love, Elena

BEER RUN!

(chorus)
B double E double R-U-N beer run
B double E double R-U-N beer run
all we need is a ten and a fiver
a car and a key and a sober driver
B double E double R-U-N beer run

A couple o' frat boys from Abilene
drove all night to see Robert Earl Keen
at the KPIG swine and soiree dance
they wore baseball caps and khaki pants
they wanted cigarettes and so to save some money
they bummed one off a hippie that smelled kinda funny
next thing they knew they were both really hungry

and pretty thirsty too...

(chorus)

They found a store with a sign said their beer was the coldest
they sent in Brad cause he looked the oldest
he got a case of beer and a candy bar
walked over to where them registers are
laid his fake id on the coutertop
the clerk looked and turned, and looked back and stopped
he said "boy, I ain't callin' the cops,
but I am keepin' this card."

the guys both took it pretty hard...

B double E double R-U-N beer run
B double E double R-U-N beer run
oh how happy we would be
if we'd only brought a better fake id
on a B double E double R-U-N beer run

They met this other old hippie named Sleepy John
claimed to be the one from the Robert Earl Keen song
so they gave him some cash and he bought em some brews
it was a beautiful day out in Santa Cruz
they wuz feelin so good it shoulda been a crime
the crowd was cool and the band was prime
they made it back to their seats just in time
to sing with all their friends

"the road goes on forever and the party never ends..."

( repeat original chorus)

I have the sinking feeling that this weekend saw the birth of the next Gnome song....

In a word, Lady Fair: nyup. Gnomes II.
'Course, this one demands audience participation... and perhaps inclusion in final revels. God save us.

Okay okay, I'm stepping on it!

But somebody has to help me light a fire under the fire eater! Can't miss him, he's the one in yellow at CTRF screaming "PUT ME OUT".

Actually he's gotten the logo to the artist, so fire must be applied there, but I don't have a name or where I could send you, with fire. God, don't make me start quoting lines from fire acts at this time of night.

Sheesh --

And I've got my fathers gun and a scorching case of herpes! Oops! Was that my outside voice? DAMN!
[scribbling on the check]

And I'll want to hear that song done in it's entirety at CTF this weekend.

Dammit boy, if you've got the logo, e-mail it to me, I can have it to the printer NOW! Why the hell am I saying this on the board! I know your real name and number! Overuse of exclamation points just like in high school!

Okay folks, get those last-minute orders in, we could have those shirts for ya by the Saturday party!

Umm, so, would GBU happen to fit into that list? I mean, we only did 3 faires, but we did a lot at those shows?

And what of the Great Unwashed? Again, 3 faires under their belts.

Sorry to sound whiney, but we want our 15 minutes too!

Dearest Big Girly German Man:

You guys already HAVE t-shirts, and a booth, and a company!!! Sheesh!!! You've got freakin 20 minutes already!!!

And the members of Renniepalooza have each done at least 5 different New England faires this year. That was kinda the idea... first annual commemorative, never before t-shirted phenomenon...

Aw hell, I'm losing here, ain't I. You're bigger, and have more weapons.

Love,
Elena

Look at it this was Gustav, this is a bunch of folks hanging out together who brainstormed a t-shirt design. If you or the Unwashed or Bedlam or any of a dozen other wonderful performers were hanging out with us that morning, you and they would probably be on it, but you weren't. This doesn't mean we don't love your shows. It just means you weren't in line of sight when we were designing. This is not meant to leave anyone out. It was not meant as a who-works-more-faires contest. It was meant as silly fun and possibly a way for a few of us to make some extra cash.

Please no one be offended that you weren't included on this. Take it for what it really is: just a group of performers who got way too silly, had a sketch pad handy, and then actually had the insanity to try see the idea through.

One thing that was recognized after the design was done is that these shirts can be made again and again with names and stickfigures added and subtracted at any time.

I'm making a stick-figure salary that won't bear much subtracting...;-(
