Jessica,

Obviously you have read little of scripture and know less of tolerance. The church belongs to Christ and is rightly called the Church of Christ. Denominations are a man made concept, but the church is of Christ regardless of the name on the front door.

What does Christ teach us.
1: Love the Lord thy God with all thy might.
2;Love thy neighbor as you love thyself.

Unless you're looking for a little of that fire and brimstone, you should practice this concept.

I have often wondered how the simple message of Christ gets warped and twisted into a bondage of hatred. I think I found the answer.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that all might have eternal life.

Christ stated, I came not to condemn the world but to save it.

Later,
mredd

PS. Good luck Dora. I hope that your experience will not turn you off completely. There are far more compassionate people who practice Christianity than there are lunatics. Unfortunately, the lunatics tend to be more vocal.
