competition time !

some of you may remember that we set a little teaser a few months back, asking for short stories laced with as many bears song titles as could be managed.

hold on. this is a story you have to hear, kid. so take it.

[summer nights]
florence. the city where i first fell in love. we were weary from the days on the trains, all the train songs, all the endless nights, all the track hum. we stepped out of the carriage and slept. inside, i woke in the middle of the night. the moon's wane fell across her lips, her eyes. i slipped into my headphones and played her favorite balloon song. i watched her sleep so far away. she: in the mother sleep. and i didnt think she would ever come back. afraid, i took her hand. "come get me." i fell to her and that was the first time we ever kissed. the first time i ever loved. "tonight, i'm just going to love. and when you're in love, its forever."

why i was i in blue london? i needed to leave. in london i'm always cut, falling backwards, coming down, in unhappy days. now i was the one begging her, "come get me." and she did. the next night we're in amsterdam. "i'm never going back". she takes my hand. i know it will be alright forever. holland: so smooth in the sun.

[rare like you are]
isn't she beautiful? she's your only hope, your only dream, she's the heaven star, the perfect pop band. her words: your bible.

[dust remains]
she's dead now. red now. kid, you're sure to see why i'm shy like you now. if i were to wake in the morning and she were beside me, a beautiful child, maybe then i could rise like lazarus.
