you can now:

"Note to anyone who turned up fashionably late tonight: suckers! You missed the best band of the night! With Anglo/Irish outfit Jetplane Landing on the receiving end of so much praise, it's easy to see how one might forget about the support bands, so it's a thrill to stumble across DIstophia's post-punk experimentalism. The young quartet have adopted Sonic Youth's dirty chug and use of feedback as instrumentation, combined it with searing Dinosaur Jr-style guitar and imperfectly perfect Pavement-esque vocals. then blown the whole complex package sky high. Frontman Pete Dixon ends the setin the middle of the room, guitar dragging behind him, screaming in people's faces. Stunning.

The same can't be said for the pale indie-rock of Intentions of an Asteroid- a band trying to pass off self-righteous pretension as talent, and looking like utter wankers in the process.

Two gigs into a 56-date tour, Jetplane Landing look thrilled to be here, and their Bluetip-inspired melodies ensure the entire room's thrilled to have them. The band skip etween hardcore heaviness and pop hooks with ease- their only fault being the ridiculous US accent their singer adopts for every song. Their future's bright, but Distophia's shadow is tricky to escape from tonight.
