Subject: Need help!!!!!!!!! what is this song name? Artist? This isn't spam I'm been serious!!!!

Ok so I was in HMV today and walking around and I heard this song playing and it sounded really funny like a war protest song but in serious weird bluegrass style. It was just this guy singing and playing an acoustic it sounded a bit like jonny cash. So anyway I heard the lines "Sometimes It's hard to keep kicking against the pricks" and then heard the enxt verse was half listerning but got the line "Whirlwind in a palm tree". Now my question is does anyone have any idea what the song is called? Or who it is by? Like I say it could be jonny cash he has sang stranger things. But it was a really good song and it's stuck in my head so please help

cheers
