They don't go anywhere. When you think about things you send electrical impulses to the part of the brain where whatever your thinking about is stored. You just turn your thoughts on and off. When you turn a light off it doesn't go away. its just switched off.

Lol, made even less sense than i usually do then. Not sure what that had to do with ed harcourt either. That'll definitely kill it...
