Subject: I went and got one today

I had read on a different board about someone hunting for a lost ring and the fellow he was helping out brought out a "Discovery Channel" detector... said it cost something like 11.95 at Target...

I went and got one today... it is a little loop, hand held or you can put it in the wand and walk along, if your under five feet tall.. This detector was made for a child, it is a toy and does not detect deep at all, I could get a couple of inches on it... But the little thing sure is handy as far as getting into a hole... and once I paid forty dollars for a wall stud finder, didnt work worth poop... but this little 14.99 toy from Target sure is finding the wall studs for me!

These little detectors are located in the toy department at Target... I think prices vary from store to store and the reason that my price was higher than someone elses... they run on one nine volt battery... it is cheap enough if it is damaged it is no great loss...

This little detector was made for children, it is on the idea of the Discovery Channel... those shows that keep us all glued to the tv... gee, which I could find silver Roman coins in a farming field!! It is a neet idea for kids... all of us at all ages... recomended for five years old and up
