It is highly unlikely that whatever happened to Stacey that night/morning was planned. It is likely that her remains are in the landfill, overlooked by the police at the time of her disappearance until it was too late to be able to make an effective search. There was a large dumpster right outside her apartment and it was emptied between the date she disappeared and the date the police became involved. One of the 'suspects' also had easy drive up access to a dunpster at his complex - hidden from view and a closed compactor type. Notably, his vehicle was never searched either.
