Actually it wasn't too bad. I think that's because we really didn't know what was happening around us. We watched from our front door after the power went out (because as it turns out we weren't all that prepared for it to hit us- we had all sorts of beverages and canned foods and filled our bathtubs with water, but forgot to get a radio that works on batteries!!) to listen for a tornado and to see how bad it was. The winds were pretty amazing, but didn't seem too damaging (there are no tall trees near us, developers really clear the land over here) so we thought everything would be fine by the morning! When we woke up, the power still wasn't on so we left to go to Inverness (to await our power... thinking, it can't last more than a day right?). As soon as we turned out of our subdivision we realized how lucky we were. A power line and trees were down across the road. Everything was such a MESS! You really can't tell from the pictures- there are just SO many trees and signs and power lines down. Even today we saw broken trees on 3 power lines (which really makes me wonder if the power will stay on!). Most of the damage around here was from trees falling on houses- and we saw ALOT of those. We came back on Thursday when our power was restored to clean out the rotten food from our fridge and put our fence back up (my birthday- woohoo! :oP). We are now thankful to only have the tiny trees around our house.

Side note- yesterday when we went to Walmart to restock our fridge, my ring got caught on the cart while I was loading the food. I knocked the diamond out of the setting, into the aisle and FREAKED OUT! I was on the verge of tears and looking around wildly all while trying to explain the situation to passerby and Fred so they could help find it. Well, Fred found it and I put it in my pocket. Problem is, I couldn't stop checking for it and lost it again when I got in the car. So we got back home, I freaked out again and Fred went back to check (I thought he was crazy and would never find it). Apparently he's not crazy, he's just a really good husband. He found it again (in the PARKING LOT!!) and we went DIRECTLY to the jewelers to fix it. Unfortunately, I won't get it back until the 28th. So, needless to say, it's been a very draining week!
