Eons and eons since she heard his voice before, yet it clicks perfectly into her memory. Softness...gentleness...like the warm summer’s breeze. “Pathy,” she breathes, matching his disbelief. Images of her beloved stallion flash, portraying their youth and happiness. The eyes open, yet still she sees him as flawless and handsome as the day they met. Her mind races, as her heart pumps.

She steps towards him, slow, deeply afraid he would vanish. “I missed you,” simply she says. And then she pauses, feeling the warmth of his breath. “I’m sorry...” A tear escapes, and she nuzzles him. “Forgive me.”
