This was certainly unexpected, and the mare did not fully understand the situation. But from all she had seen of this stallion, she had already developed a strange kind of respect for him and if there were to be a choice between leadership, then she would remain by his side. "I do not know of your father, m'lord," she begins, "or of whatever it is you speak of. But if there is a choice between leaders, be sure that I will continue to follow you as long as I am able. I apologize for my ignorance; I am quite honestly innocent to whatever may have happened previous to my arrival." She almost gives a sheepish grin, but stops herself in self-consciousness (that a word?) and instead looks at him with partial serenity.
