"When you hold the bow itself, the pressure should only be on your thumb and lower palm. Do not hold it as you would a boat paddle. Your hand should angle slightly."


She demonstrates. The wood is hitched in the thumb joint, between the thumb and first finger. When pressure is applied, she can open her fingers without the bow slipping.
