She laughed and leaned out over the branch to look down at her friend. "Why, hello! I thought you had gotten lost out there," she called, her voice playful and teasing. "Long time no see!" she said, a grin playing over her features as she climbed lithely down the tree and landed softly on the ground next to her friend.
