thanks storm and med for the great compliments. i knew that the moment we bought LoD i'd have to eventually write a review for you peeps! i'm always happy to do it!

you know, storm, i don't exactly know when it's due for release in the UK, but i can try and find out for you. you can always check Blizzard.com. they have everything you need to know there. but i'll still check!

and don't worry about thinking you're bad with your mercs. when i first began playing D2 on single player, i didn't know the first thing about RPG video/computer games. i didn't even know what the hell skill and stat points were. i just put the point anywhere i felt like if the skill button looked pretty. (yeah yeah, point and laugh). but with my merc that i got for defeating Blood Raven in Act1 that Kashya gives you, i went through rogues like they were going out of style. i didn't realize i had to keep track of their hit points, and i was practically in tears with guilt every time i had to return to Kashya and explain why i just got another one of her rogues killed.

i swear!

and socketed items are hot right now. runes make such kickass items! the only thing is, we discovered today, that the stats on rune socketed items only work for the creator of the item. stats disappear if anyone else holds it, which sucks if you're trying to make an item for someone. but then again, you can make monstrously amazing items and then sell them on ebay if stats didn't disappear, so i suppose it's a good thing if rune socketed items work only for their creator. then again, if you want to make a gift for someone, you give them the empty socketed item and the runes to use, and let them create it themselves! makes a great gift-giving idea, and so easy to wrap! (*snicker*)

and correction on my review: only charms can be utilized in inventory, not charms and runes. runes act just like gems and jewels where their power is only utilized when placed in socketed items.

as for joining Phoenix Night, storm, i'd be soooooo happy if you did! you can view the rules here, but we *do* make the rare exceptions. like, you're not 18 yet (PXN is an 18 and over clan) but we have 2 members that are younger. it's just because both Drakonis (he's my partner, the emperor of phoenix night) and i know them. and i'm sure that Drak will concede when i explain to him that you're a good friend of mine. plus, one of the other criteria for joining is that you must be lvl 30 and have beaten big daddy (my name for diablo) in Normal mode. but you're a hatchling status until then (by exception only, of course) and my members will be more than happy to help you level up and get you to those stats. i could go on and on about the clan here, but just peruse the site and read about it. i really tried to go into good detail on the sites about what the Gargoyle Horde and the Dragon Guard are all about, even though my ranks aren't complete yet. i still have a few to work on.

i'm empress of the gargoyle horde, which means that i run the gargoyle faction (would i name it anything less? lol) and drakonis runs the dragon guard. each have their own duties. but you can have chars in both classes. like you can have a char who's a pk for the dragons, or a treasure hunter who's a gargoyle. but *you* personally are associated with only one faction. not that once you join either gargoyle or dragon you're stuck forever. you can change. but you might lose your rank if you do and be required to start over. drak and i haven't needed to discuss such things as of yet.

but anyway, i digress...

i would love for you to join Phoenix Night, storm! are you kidding? really all you need to do is fill out the Petition and if you qualify (i'll tell you right now that you will, of course) i'll put your name up on the Roster as a Hatchling, and you're in!

the only requirements we ask is that once you fully join as either a gargoyle or dragon, you create a char with the _PXN tag. like my main character is Delena_PXN. my Gargoyle Lord Papewaio is Papewaio_PXN. everyone in the clan wears their tag so that if they join public games, everyone knows which clan they belong to. people who are curious or looking for a clan will ask you "hey, what's the pxn stand for?" and then you tell them "phoenix night" and conversation starts from there. we've already recruited two members that way. :0)

you can join at any time, storm. no need to finish the game (just have to beat big daddy, which *might* change to defeating Baal in a few months when LoD is commonplace) or buy LoD. just sign up! :0)

wow, now i'm all tingly with excitement...

and hey, if you guys want, i'll find all my game reviews that i've written here and make a review page to link from my site, okay? that way they're saved for posterity's and medeis' sake! *tee hee*

oh! and for those of you that have websites, don't forget to join my webring and Remember the Gargoyle campaign! the campaign isn't up yet, i'm still working on buttons and banner jpg's to put up for people to use, but the webring is. i made the Diablo II Diehard Fanatics Webring and The Gargoyle Dominion Webring which has absolutely nothing on it except the title, a link to the guidelines page, and a silly little "this page is under construction" gif. but i solemnly swear to provide you a link to my gargoyle campaign the moment i put it up!

*whew!* okay, i think that's enough for now...
