okay, medeis, i'm really holding myself back not telling you how to make two pages on your server! lol
okay, on to remote image hosting:
it's bad! bad bad bad bad BAD! *hehe
it's bad because you're linking an image from a remote source, so every time someone accesses that page, the graphic's server has to load up too, which really cuts into loading time, and lags both your server and the remote server. and it's stealing. it's stealing the remote server's bandwidth and it's just plain wrong, not to mention bad net etiquitte. for more detailed info about remote image hosting aka bandwidth theft, go to Web">http://www.widowsweb.com/widows/plea.html>Web Prestige. lotsa info there!
and i highly recommend becoming a member of it, too.
okay! so how do you avoide bandwidth theft and still have the images you want on your site? easy!
in just 4 easy steps, you too can have all the great graphics that make web design a snap! (jeez, do i sound like one of those paid programming sales people? *snicker* that was the whole idea!)
1.) find the graphic you want and right-click on it with your mouse
2.) this should bring up a small menu with options such as "set as wallpaper, save image as..." what you want to do is select "save image as"
3.) this should prompt windows to open your file directory. select where you want to save this image in your hard drive (myself, i created a separate folder in "my documents" and titled it "my pictures" so i could just put all the web graphics into that one folder). name it something simple --one word is usually enough-- all in lowercase letters, and hit "enter"
4.) now that it's saved, you can now enter your webpage's server, choose the option "upload files" or whatever it's called on your server, and this will prompt windows to bring up your file directory. find your graphic (if you upload immediately after you save the graphic, the exact folder you saved it to should be the first one that windows pulls up), select your graphic and voila!
you now have the image uploaded and filed away in your web browser! then it's just a simple matter of putting it onto your page, and this is simple html.

if you want to make a certain graphic a link, then you type in the html code for a link, then the code for a graphic like i've given you above, and then close the link. it's that simple! :0)
fiddle around with it, and have fun! you only learn by doing, and the more you do it the faster you'll get the hang of it.
(ps. jeez, i hope all my code is correct and i don't flub up! this particular voy page doesn't have the "edit" option available. HEY STORM, COULD YOU CHANGE THAT, PLEASE?)
