well i'm so glad to hear you're having fun with this web design thing. i am totally with you on the whole idea of web design and presentation being an art unto itself. after working as hard as i have, tooling around and learning what works and what doesn't, i'm now an unshakable believer in web design being an art form.
it really can be, in the right hands.
of course, one cannot deny the amazing power it gives to companies in advertising and marketing, and they hire people to design and maintain their sites! so there is a real business out there for web designers.
but then, there are those websites that are purely hobby, and those are the art pages i'm talking about. like this site here, Maganda.org . this site was up for the biggest web site award, the Webbys (don't quote me on the name, but i'll get back to you on what it was, exactly) because of how aesthetic and artistic it is.
of course, this webmistress just happens to be a lifelong friend (quite literally) so i'm more than happy to direct you to her site. i'm sure you all will find something to adore about it. it's a real example of web design at its most artful.
anyways, my "wish me luck" title refers to the latest project i'm tackling in my own website: the logo.
AUGH!
i have the pictures i want to use and am going to tackle the most difficult first, and i'm using Photoshop 6.0 to do it. i'm not *extremely* profficient in it, so i ask that you wish me luck. and as always, i will direct you to the proper location once i have it finessed and set up.
wish me luck! *crossing fingers, but then realizing that crossed fingers make manipulating the mouse in Photoshop extremely difficult....* lol
