Right, mr stick it up your ass, I would just like to state that I have actaully been america, and did not enjoy the place much. Nothing to do with Americans themselves, but compared to cold England, America is an inferno, and I burn really easily. I dont enjoy heat a lot, and so did not enjoy america.
Next, Im sorry for any offence I may have caused. None was intentional and I probably should have explained myself better.
First: In the UK top 40 chart at the moment, we have a total of, 29 American acts, 4 polish, 3 Swedish, 1 Australian and only 3 English.
Now, I have nothing against music from other countries, america has produced some of the best bands at the moment. Placebo, Papa Roach, Radio Head, Blink 182, Ash, foo fighters, Everclear, Feeder and many more.
If these were put in to the top 40, I would have no problems! But the fact of the matter is that it is called the UK top 40. It would be nice to have a few bands from the UK in it. Nothing to do with Americans, or how I view them or my opinion on 'a better country' or anything like that. And as far as going on about all that power of the crown stuff, I really could not care less. The monarchy in my opinion is a waste of time. A family that is supposed to represent England, but yet, could possibly be the most out of touch group of people in this little county of ours!
Do not get me wrong I enjoy products from America, music from america, television shows from america. I just wish that if we in England are going to call something English....that...it is actaully English?? Is that to much to ask? I have got no problems with there being to charts or anything, but the fact that America have so many great bands outshines Eglish bands slightly, and most of them do not make it passed a 'one hit wonder' stage of a career. I was simply stating that it was nice for an English band, and a good English band, making an impact on the English music scene. Sorry for any offence caused. I am wiling to apologise to anybody, as well as my friend stickitupuras who seems to have taken extreme exception to my comments.
If again in the future I make any remarks which offend, please do not fly off the handle, it is rare that any of them are meant or thought thro, (just ask storm) and I shall apologise again.
But, in the end is it so bad to have a friendly 'fight' over who has a better country. Obviously nobody can say, and no body is right or wrong, it can just be a 'fun' discusion, which in turn can raise some intresting and enlightening points? Well....I think I have said enough.
I would like to thank every body that tried to protect me in the chain following stickitupuras's remarks! And I hope this issue can be resolved in a mature manner.!
