In reply to: storm 's message, "which one are you going to get - black or white? id get black methinx!" on 07:23:18 05/06/01 Sun

well, the game's called Black & White for several reason.
you can choose to play black (a jealous and vengeful god) or white (a good and gracious god).
the villagers that are your believers see things in black and white. there is no gray whatsoever. very simple-minded. anything good that happens to them is your doing. anything bad that makes them suffer is your fault.....however, you, as a god, have to deal with murky, sticky moral dilemmas. villagers only see in black and white.
any action you take has the threefold effect just like in magick. you can have the positive (or negative, if you're playing black) consequences, but also have consequences that you did not even see coming.
that's the beauty of this game.
another thing is the software is dynamic, interactive, and learning. it upgrades in minute increments, not like other games where you hit a certain experience number and suddenly gain a level. it's unnoticeable in constant exposure.
kind of like a baby. every day you see a baby, nothing will have changed. but you know the baby's changing every day. however if you go away for a few weeks and come back, you will definitely notice change! that's the game play. tiny increments.
kind of like a virtual pet, but not quite. :0)
anyway, i think i might get it today. everquest sucked, so i'm returning it!
