are you asking, do runts become outsiders...and if so, do even they contribute in some genetic way? if they can reproduce sure, but generally no one will mate with a runt or a "sport" (i use this term in its actual sense of oddity). they have less survival capability from the start. they are the last to feed, thus their condition is perpetuated, they stay small. they die, cast off from their social group. no advantage to being a loner actually. (i'm not talking about humans here).
