Subject: Puppy NEO

Hello all. My name is vicky and I am writing in need of some advice for my Neo puppy. Our Lola is a year old and tends to get extremely hyper around her bewitching hour..8:00 pm. She is taken on two walks a day at 20-30 minutes at a time, and has a great backyard to run around in. We love her to pieces and have no problem with her activness. I was just wondering if this was normal for a Neo. After speaking with several owners ive come to realize that all have said their Neo's as pups were very tame and lax. Almost at times suggesting that we have a problem with Lola since she is so active. She is a wonderful dog, but does jumping on you out of no where and running laps around your home qualify as normal behavior for her breed. Like I said she does get a lot of attention at home and love and kisses, and is very well taken care of. I guess im just looking for some advice. She has been through six weeks of obediance training and is fantastic with the traditional sit, lay down, and stay. But our house hold is very relaxed and we just enjoy when Lola lays on our feet...or chest for that matter, and hangs out with us. Sometimes her hyperness becomes embarrassing when company is over because it seems that any method we try to tame her just doesnt work, calm voice, shouting "no!", petting, constant attention. When shes off, shes off and there is no stopping her. I find myself following her with my hand on her collar when someone walks through the door to make sure she doesnt jump on them. That includes jumping on the furniture, company, and grabbing things off the counters and tables which she knows is wrong. We cant seem to comunicate that no means no and that there are consequences to her actions. Please understand we come from a very loving and gentle home, and my husband does tend to be the leader in our pack, so to speak but she wont even listen to him when shes in one of her moods. Help!

Vicky
