Thankyou!! How are yu? Enjoy your independence weekend? I had a blast in Alotau..my first time to attend an independence celebration back home!! Lots of soccer (therefore lots of people), lots of stalls, traditional dancing, and friendly people! Do you know Tom Tanaka? Artist extraordinaire! He collects driftwood and paints on charachters of birds, wildlife, humans, etc...amazing stuff!! His was one of the displays that really caught my eye. Others had their paintings on display, beautiful coastal village settings. Do they have an outlet to sell their crafts?!!
Each stall had something on for display. Of course, the faithful food vendors had their mouthwatering dishes, sandwiches, pies, drinks, cigerettes..and a pig to the person who gets three darts in the bullseye! The poor pig was a litte apprehensive I think.

I had a great time! Next time in country, attend the independence celebrations in Alotau. Come to think of it, I didn't once see Habona! Actually, I heard much later that he was dancing the Tapioka with the Sogus. Not too sure on the accuracy of that report. If he did, he must've been having fun!

ciao
