Subject: I'm the fan

Hi there! I've just found the message board and have read with interest the different messages from like-minded fans.

I live in England and often feel that over here, Joe's music never quite receives the recognition it so richly deserves. I frequently find myself missing out on important info or finding out too late. For example, I missed a series of book signings he did in this country to promote, "A Cure for Gravity". Did anyone go and if so could they share their experiences? Also, according to the official website, there is the possibility of a stage adaptation of the book. Does anyone have further info about this? Are we going to see "Joe Jackson-The Musical" in the future?

Finally, if the press are to believed (and "they wouldn't print it if it wasn't true...."), Joe has a reputation for being a rather difficult person. Is this just a media image? Has anyone out there actually met him and if so what is he really like. I'd be interested to hear your views.

C

Claire,
I managed to interview JOE during the book signing tour.
E-mail me at tampenny@yahoo.com and I can share my opinions with you,
Mark.

I think Joe has earned his "reputation", and maybe he is just a misunderstood perfectionist. He is a much more mellow fellow these days, judging from my own observations and the interviews he has given since his book release. I would say he is more true to himself now.

I understand his upcoming DVD release will also feature Joe reading from his book. A stage musical? I dunno.
