I had forgotten that. I do not share your faith in the system that inflicted MTBE on a gullible nation, but in CA you do appear to be stuck with it. If something bad happens to the refinery making Politically Correct Gas for one jurisdiction, no one else's recipe is lawful. And certainly our bumpkin-gasoline from Flyover-America isn't permitted in the Enlightened Zones!

Living in Flyover-America, I hadn't thought of this--since a sibling who lives in CA explained it to me, a Refinery-incident or three (with attendant gas-price-spike) ago. That's gotta be a royal pain. Would that I had a more constructive solution than don't live there--but that works for me thus far. RKBA! Regards, all.
