Subject: Internet meetings

A weird coincidence... I just received a letter from our school district that a local man who is a known sex offender has been contacting children via internet. He met up with a 14 year old girl and coerced her into sex... I wouldn't want that to happen to Starr, but I agree with those who have mentioned that realistically it would have been an older man with bad intentions that would set up a meet on the internet. It could have been good for public awareness for Starr to have a close call...

That is a weird coincidence, but not so unusual because we hear so much of these things happening in real life. That is so sad about that poor 14 year old who no doubt was naive enough to trust a stranger on the internet. She's going to be really messed up from the experience ... hopefully she'll get the help she needs to get past it. I do hope that the sex offender was caught. We hearing more and more about police officers pretending to be teens on the internet in order to catch these scum bags who prey on youngsters.

I'm glad OLTL isn't going in that direction with Starr. I think she'll be in enough danger from this experience and I really don't want to see her lose her innocence at her young age. I do have a feeling though that this is going to make her a little older and wiser – Speaking of which … doesn’t it seem like she grew up so fast, and all of a sudden? But I guess that's how puberty works. LOL
