There are other sites you can visit without downloading a "music program." (And some very good ones with simple "music programs,") Use google to find them. Then use their search engines for categories of music that interest you.
One other thing, though; keep in mind that "music programs" enable people to share music, so without them you wouldn't be able to find everything you're looking for.
