Bill,

I well remember Dr. and Mrs. Lipsky, Alan Brooks, B. McDowell & some of the other "older generation" pillars of Fullerton temple when I used to very actively serve there in the early/mid 1970's. Ketch commented under a different thread that he found Bro. Turiyananda difficult to understand. Well, the Mighty T was NOTHING compared to Dr. Lipski. Dr. Lipski occasionally lead meditation services. It was always torture to the ears when he got rolling along with his weird non-musical rhythms on the harmonium that no one could follow, lisping all the words so thickly no one could understand. HA HA HA! Lot's of great feeling there though!

Back then Dr. Lipski was a religious studies professor at Cal State U. Long Beach, together with my esteemed friend & Budhist scholar Willard Johnson. Dr. Lipski was totally into SRF.

I wonder if his having become a disciple of Sri Anandamoyi Ma implies that he moved to India? Do you suppose she dares allow him to lead any chants?

I'll look for his book on Sri Anandamoyi Ma. Thank you for bringing that up!
