Subject: Norman Paulsen�s racist ideology

To examine Norman Pausen�s views on race we first have to understand a little about the universe according to Paulsen.

In Paulsen�s universe there is a long term war being fought between the Builders (the good guy�s) and the Nephilim (baddies). The Builders, according to Paulsen are a superhuman alien species who travel the galaxies in gigantic spaceships known as celestial Mus. They were created on the planet Heaven when some angel beings decided to speed up the evolution of the humanoid life form present there, and are divided into four races, the Red race, Blue Race, Yellow Race and White Race. In Paulsen�s words:-

�In their divine celestial Mus (ships of light), The Builders became the guardians and caretakers of the galaxies, caring for the evolution of all life forms and cherishing their own, which had long been evolving and difficult to obtain. In their genetic laboratories aboard their Mus, The Builders achieved physical immortality of a kind, replacing and renewing their physical forms as necessary. Time was a factor that no longer represented an obstacle to them.�*

About a million years ago, one small group of Builders, getting understandably bored with all this peace and love stuff decided to explore some unknown regions of space. Boldly going where no Builder had gone before, they came under the influence of dark forces. Thus was born the Nephilim, and evil warlike race of semi-divine beings, bent on the destruction of the Builders and all the civilisations they had created throughout the universe. This of course makes the Nephilim far more interesting than the rather bland Builders.

The Builders, despite their advanced technology, seem to be basically a bunch of wimps, and they fled in terror with the Nephilim in hot pursuit. One of the planets which the Builders tried to hide on was Earth. Eventually the Nephilim did track the Builders down and kick them out of planet Earth. But don�t worry, they have promised to return soon to save us from the Nephilim. When they do they will not bother to contact e.g. the President of the USA or the Secretary-General of the United Nations, but will head straight for Norman Paulsen and his followers.

Before they left however, the Builders had greatly interfered with our planets history and evolution. Their most interesting act being to genetically modify the evolving humanoid species they found here, under the direction of their leader La-Lu. As Paulsen describes the matter:-

�The Builders believed they had escaped from The Nephilim, and that they would not be followed to this small solar system way out on the rim of the galaxy. It was here that La-Lu and his companions, The Builders, first contacted the primitive evolving form of hu-man on Earth. La-Lu, witnessing the primitive evolving form, looked upon the diminished population of The Builders and decided to speed up the evolution of the primitive creature on the New Earth. La-Lu decided to cross the genes of the four races of The Builders with the genes of the primitive evolving form. By doing this, the new creature would have a better brain and a stronger physical body, and then would be able to join the ranks of The Builders and help them build a new civilization on the New Earth, and also help defend it against attack in the event they were ever discovered by The Nephilim.�**

Later the Nephilim also made some genetic modifications to the Earth humans, but for now lets stay with the modifications made by the Builders. Just as the Buiulders had four distinct races, they modified the Earth humans to create four races, Red, White, Yellow and Blue. According to Paulsen:-

�The four foundation races were each given four colors of corn by The Builders: white, red, blue and yellow. This was to remind them of their creators, and that each race represented one of the four divine cosmic forces, just as The Builders had demonstrated to them. The Red Race, earth elements; White Race, air elements; Blue Race, fire elements, and Yellow Race, water elements.�***

The interesting part about Paulsen�s story, for the purposes of this post is the fact that not all the primitive humans received this genetic enhancement. If some races have been genetically enhanced, then those which have not are, of course, vastly inferior, and since this is a genetic matter, these inferior races cannot hope to ever be equals with the rest of humanity. In Paulsens own words:-

�Modern Homo Sapiens existing on the Earth today, is not the product of a long evolutionary chain of life forms, but a special creation, just as the Bible states! Civilised man today is the manifestation of a genetic cross between highly evolved extraterrestrial beings from planets within out own galaxy, and the primitive evolving form of man on Earth. The native, primitive evolving form of man on Earth is still to be seen in the Aborigines of Australia, the natives of New Guinea, South America and Africa. These natives, if left to themselves, would require at least another two or three million years for natural evolution to produce from them the modern Homo Sapiens of today.�****

So we can see that according to Paulsen, mankind can be divided on racial lines between the advanced, genetically modified human beings (themselves divided on racial lines according to their descent from the four root races) and the primitive, inferior sub-human races who have not benefited from genetic enhancements, and who are �two or three million years� behind civilised man in their evolution.
