From “Kebalananda and Sriyukteswar Biographies”, by Swami Satyeswarananda, p. 228:

After Sriyukteswar left the physical body, Yogananda became the second President of Sadhu Sova, and soon left for the United States. He sent his disciple, Swami Sevananda, to take charge of the Puri Asram.
The signboard of “Karar Asram” at Puri was taken down, and a new signboard reading “Yogoda Asram” was hung up.
Rabindranath Bhattacharya (later know as Hariharananda of Puri) of the Nadia district of Bengal joined Puri Asram in 1938 as a resident.
After some years, Sevananda left Puri. Then Swami Ushananda, disciple of Satyananda, was sent to take charge.
Satyananda remained as General Founder-Secretary of Yogoda Sat Sanga and Principal of Ranchi School in addition to looking after Sriyukteswar’s Sat Sanga Sova as leader of the East throughout India.
After a time, Ushananda left Puri. Then Satyananda asked Rabindranath Bhattacharya as “Brahmachari Rabindra Narayan” to take charge of Puri Asram. Satyananda told the author, “Rabindra was initiated into Kriya by Bijoya K. Chatterjee of Howrah, the householder disciple of Sriyukteswar, and learned Kriya from me. However, he received permission to initiate others into Kriya through a letter in October 1951 from Yogananda.”...
Meanwhile, Brahmachari Rabindra Narayan entered into the order of Swami in 1959 by His Holiness Jagat Guru Sankaracharya Bharati Krisna Tirtha of Puri, and his name changed to “Swami Hariharananda Giri.”...
On August 2, 1971, Satyananda entered into Mahasamadhi. Then Swami Hariharananda became the fourth President of Sadhu Sova. At Puri, he removed the signboard of “Yogoda Asram” and put back the previous signboard “Karar Asram.” Then a misunderstanding started between him and Yogoda Sat Sanga (YSS), leading to litigations.
........................................

From the book “Mejda: The Family and the Early Life of Paramahansa Yogananda”, by Sananda Lal Ghosh, younger brother of Yogananda, Chapter 13, “The Last Years and an Ongoing Mission”, page 230: A Samadhi Mandir for Swami Sri Yukteswar:
“When Mejda [Paramahansa Yogananda] had come to India in 1935, he had been impressed with the construction work I had supervised at 4 Garpar Road.... He saw I had an inherent ability for construction, so he entrusted me with building the samadhi mandir of Swami Sri Yukteswar.
“Though I was having a difficult time making ends meet in supporting my family, and my sons were not employed, I wanted to fulfill Mejda’s request. I left aside my artwork in Calcutta and went to Puri to undertake this task....
“Swami Sevanandaji was in charge of the ashram, as assigned by Mejda. A Brahmin boy, Rabinarayan, had come to Puri as a tuberculosis patient; and when he was cured, Sevananda had allowed him to remain in the ashram to assist with odd jobs and errands. Rabinarayan was a help to me in locating masons and the materials needed for construction of the temple. He often requested me to commend him and praise his work in my letters to Mejda. I did write to Mejda how much he had helped me and that he was a very nice boy.”

As we see, there is no mention, in both books, to a personal meeting between Rabinarayan and Yogananda or Sri Yukteswar.

Finally, I quote Paramahansa Yogananda's letter to Robinarayan = Hariharananda (1951). The letter is printed in every edition of Hariharananda's "Kriya Yoga" book: "I give you permission to give the Kriya Yoga to those who are truly in earnest -- but only after they have received all the other preliminary techniques -- the tension exercises, concentration exercise (Hang-Sau) and meditation (listening to Om sound). Contact Prokas about the technique -- I will instruct office to also send you the form to follow. Let me hear from you further about this." And: "One thing I must ask of each of you and that is that you all work harmoniously together for the common cause. Do not seek to find faults in others."

I'm not just trying to be negative, but as objective as I can, but it seems that Hariharananda doesn't comply to the demands and conditions that Paramahansa Yogananda stated when he granted Hariharananda the right to initiate others in 1951.
