I have tried the Solar Logos technique for a number of years and I can tell you it didn't seem to help me much. I practiced it for about 2-3 years. I even met Norman Paulsen at the ranch where the group meets for meditation. I will say he's a very nice and humble man but from talking to him a few things raised red flags. For one he thinks that "Self Realization Fellowship is trying to hold people with their membership." He compared it to the catholic church. After re reading what Yogananda actually said regarding the organization that he founded, Self Realization Fellowship, and the future of it I can tell you that Norman couldn't be more wrong. Norman also thinks that you should get the kriya technique (or to be more accurate his Rainbow Technique) right away. Forget the fact that it takes time to develop concentration which makes mediation effective. Instead just dig right in because the energies of the universe have changed to such a large degree that Hong-Sau and the Aum technique aren't necessary. Another red flag was Norman talking about stock piling foods and things implying that the Earth as we know it is headed for a crash. In the preface to Christ Consciousness book he thanks Sri Daya Mata and Sister Shanti for their helpful suggestions is editing of his book. I guess that they are good at editing but he sees the organization as only wanting to collect money. Very disrespectful. I have no doubt that Norman is a kind and humble man who could very well have had actual experiences of God and who knows what else. But to call yourself a direct disciple of Yogananda and then change the technique and then imply that the kriya methods that your own guru taught are incomplete is just so wrong. Also, quoting Yogananda in the advertisement with words that Yogananda had told him in meditation to help further his own ends is disrespectful. Also saying that Babaji and others giving their blessings is strange. No one else seems to have seen Norman given the right to initiate others into Kriya by Yogananda except Norman himself. I could go on and on about how things don't add up. But I just think that Paulsen and Solar Logos should drop the use of Yogananda name since the technique doesn't even have anything to do with Yogananda's Kriya Yoga and leave it at that.
