I forgot to include this excerpt from the same book by Dusk and Willow Weaver. When writing about a man who had recently left Sunburst, there's this passage. "They(members of Sunburst) feel he was torn between his Alabamian, down to eath nature and some of the personal, cosmic visions of Norman shared with us at family gatherings this year on such elusive subjects as Creation, the origins of good and evil and the early history of humanity. The community as a whole has always had an interest in mystic and metaphysical expanations of these topics, but they believe James found the recent visions intolerably incredible because they hinge upon Norman's belief that the celestial messengers of the Creator-known in the Bible as angels-were able to keep watch over the vast reaches of creation, eons ago, by traveling about in light spheres. In other words: ancient, intergalactic spaceflight of divine emissaries in vehicles formed of light. All of this is highly speculative and would have been too much so for me to mention here if James had not spoken directly to Dusk about the decision to leave. He confirmed that Norman's accounts are most unacceptable to him, but showed he wanted to end the subject there, and Dusk let it drop."
