Subject: Surat Shabd Yoga, and Kriya Yoga

I would love to know whether the first initiation of the SRF is the same as surat shabd yoga as understood by the Radhasoami Faith. I have been told by one authority it is not.... but one has to realize too that the techniques in kriya yoga tend to vary from one master to another. Sri Yukteswar referred to sound practice as Surat Shabd Yoga... when perhaps it should be referred to Nada Yoga which is the old Vedic system relating only to the Sounds of the astral Region rather than the higher ones....
