I've read Hamsa Yoga and in this book, the technique is indeed very different from the Hong Saw taught by Swami Yogananda. And, allow me to disagree...In that book, very well researched (written by a pandit) we can see that in a way, its the same mantra, but the scriptures all say the practice is: Soa-Ham. The sounds are not to be pronounced, but felt, discovered, and the concentration in the Kutashta is indeed a separate meditation called Bindu whatever (dont remember:-) Not to be done togheter with the So-a- Ham

Well, maybe Master Yogananda did create a moe sintetic form of this wonderful meditation, so wonderful that it is considered a separate yoga by itself

Hope this helps
