Sorry, but I don't have any factual information about him & Master conferring. It's easy to imagine that Master would have known him. As you say, they were from about the same place in India, lived in
the same places in California at the same time, & followed the same ideals.
In reply to your request to say something about him...Well...he
was an old guy, unusually calm, quiet, poised, slow moving. Tangible aura of peace. I remember deeply yearning to "have
what he had" spiritually. He held occasional public gatherings in a cottage below the Montecito temple after his Sunday sermons. He rotated around the Hollywood, Montecito and
Trabuco Canyon sites, & maybe elsewhere. I found him inspirational, contrasted to the dry younger monks who talked when he was elsewhere. With him I very often had that cool experience,
probably familiar to us all, that his sermons were being addressed privately to me & my exact personal situation, precisely
answering my personal questions.
He was a good author, maybe due to help from Aldous Huxley &
Christopher Isherwood. A Capricorn like PY. It just happens that
his Yoga and Mysticism, Four Lectures by Swami
Prabhavananda< and his The Sermon on the Mount
according to Vedanta are here on my desk now, just
cleaned of years worth of dust.
I vaguely recall him saying he was asked by others in India to
help lead political activism as India was seeking independence.
P. Yogananda recounted something very similar in his AY.
Request: If you eventually turn up actual facts about him &
PY conferring, will you please post them here?
