For information about Walter's sex abuse trial and expert testimony about his mental illness:

For a comparison of the teachings of Walters and the actual teachings of Yognananda: (it's
amazing. Walters actually teaches the exact opposite of his own guru. Hard to believe until you
see it)

There are many groups that have different approaches. SRF has always had a broad "live and let
live" philosophy. Even Ananda freely practiced it's version of things for over 20+ years. SRF's
public and private message was "there is room enough for all". Even though they may have felt
some of these groups or teachers were incorrect in their approach.

As long as these groups were distinct, that people could tell the difference between them and
SRF, SRF was content to let them do whatever they wanted, even though some of them got
really whacky, such as Norman Paulson, Sunburst and the space aliens.

Then J. Donald Walters changed the name of Ananda to "The Church of Self-Realization". That
did it. SRF felt it had no choice but to protect the legacy of Yogananda.

Ananda is not simply another group of sincere devotees who have added their own twist to their
discipleship, such as Roy Eugene Davis, or Yogacharya Black.

Walters suffers from the mental disorder known as the Narcisisstic Personality Disorder, with
Megalomania. Ananda is not simply another way of following Yogananda. Ananda is a
personality cult set up by J. Donald Walters to supply his own narcisisstic need for adulation and
power. The people of Ananda may be sincere, but have been tricked by Walters, who himself
doesn't completely comprehend what he has done, due to his ongoing mental illness. Though
these people do not realize it, they are in fact disciples of Walters, and they and the community
structure profoundly reflect his personality, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Discipleship is not who you CALL your guru, but WHO YOU ATTUNE YOURSELF WITH.

If you want to be a disciple of Yogananda, but in fact read Walter's lessons, Walters books, sing
Walters songs, pray to Walters, listen to sermons by ministers trained by Walters, you in fact are
not attuning yourself to Yogananda, but to WALTERS. Thus you are in fact a disciple of
Walters, not of Yogananda. It's simple spiritual science. Yogananda said it was essential to have
a "true" guru, one who is FULLY realized because "...the guru lifts you to their own level of
realization". Attune yourself with an Avatar and you become like him. Attune yourself with
Walters and you become LIKE HIM.

All of the accusations against SRF are simply worn out hatreds and resentments of Walters. He
has been saying these things for 40 years now, ever since he was kicked out. None of them are
true.

Here are some examples:

Walters says SRF has "changed" the teachings. SRF has only made slight cosmetic changes such
as editing done by qualified disciples following guidelines set down by Yogananda.

Walters has gone far beyond merely changing them, but completely and literaly REPLACED
them with his own versions of books, lessons, ceremonys, poetry, etc.

Walters says SRF has made itself into an intermediary between disciple and guru. Anyone
familiar with SRF knows this is utter nonsense. SRF continually teaches the importance only of
direct relationship with the guru. There are no "SRF teachings". What one gets from SRF is
simply what Yogananda taught.

Walters has officially declared in writing that he is THE channel for God and Yogananda, and
becomes angry when people "go to Master directly".

Walters says SRF wants a "monopoly" on Yogananda. This is nonsense. SRF ignored Ananda
and a dozen other groups for decades. Only when Walters went too far and try to imitate SRF's
logo did they come to the painfull realization that he had to be fought to protect Yogananda's
legacy and the commercial use of his name and fame for Walters own purposes.

Walters does not care about bringing people to his guru. His true motivation is fame, name and
wealth for himself.

To find out for yourself, you may go to actual court documents and research proving
incontrovertably these assertions.
