Anandamoy's comments in answer to several satsanga questions. I
didn't note most of the questions, but only wrote down
Anandamoy's comments. Sorry!:
It's harder to
make a deep spiritual effort when life is going smoothly.
Sometimes troubles can be a reward to purify us.
As egos identified
with the mortal self we are always thinking in terms of finding
the right "set up", but the soul has nothing to do with
the things of duality: pleasure / pain, loneliness /
companionship. It's normal for humans under delusion to look for
the right "set up" in life.
Use the troubles
in our life for increasingly spiritual purposes. Surrender to
whatever is coming into our life and see that everything can be
turned toward our spiritual growth.
Friends are to
help each other through mutual exchange, and help spiritual
growth. Real friend is distinguished from social acquaintances.
We're born into
world at this time of change into higher age - it's a time of
turmoil - because we need it. It won't be much longer before
people begin to catch on to proper behavior for higher age.
SRF policy not to
discuss prior incarnations. He practically stated that Babaji was
Krishna, but didn't make a flat statement.
Soul is never
touched by any of the human conditions & experiences.
Hymn to Brahma:
Brahma is God the Absolute, beyond Maya, beyond creation. We as
souls are part of that. We become what we think about
automatically by identification & attunement - is law of
concentration & magnetism.
Once experienced,
then the Absolute Bliss of God only is real, and all the
dualistic experiences, pleasure / pain, are only words. But until
experienced, the the dualistic experiences seem real, and
God is only a word.
The sould is never
touched...is just the observer of everything.
God is really the
Guru. God teaches us first through life's experiences, then
through teachers & books, & near the end, a true guru.
Question: Why do
we pray instead of just relying on Divine Mother?
Answer: But
who has that kind of total surrender? Until we have that total
surrender, we pray.
Prayer is to attune with God. True prayer is a form of
meditation, eventually leading to union.
