Anyone who cares to look at the website for Govindan's organisation would see that they imply that the kriya they are teaching is the same or similar to that taught by those in the lineages of Lahiri Mahasaya.

Here are a few examples:

"M. Govindan, M.A., has practiced Kriya Yoga intensively as a disciple of Babaji since 1969. He received his initial training from the Self Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles, where he grew up, and from 1970 onwards, from Yogi S.A.A. Ramaiah, a direct disciple of Babaji."

"Parvati Premananda has practiced Kriya Yoga since 1974, first as a disciple of "Mother" Mildred Hamilton, who was one of Paramahansa Yogananda's first direct disciples, and after her death, and since 1992, with M. Govindan, President of Babaji's Kriya Yoga Order of Acharyas."

"His
(Babaji's)disciples have included Adi Shankaracharya in the 9th century, the great reformer of Hinduism, the saint Kabir who united Hindu's and Muslims at the beginning of the 16th century, Lahiri Mahasaya in the 19th century, and Yogi S.A.A. Ramaiah and V.T. Neelakantan in the second half of the 20th Century. These masters and their disciples, including the present lines of Shankaracharyas, Sri Yukteswar, Paramahansa Yogananda and his disciples, and M. Govindan continue to spread the fragrance of Kriya throughout the world."

Anyone not familiar with kriya traditions reading this would assume that the system being taught by Govindans organisation is the same as that taught by those in the Lahiri Mahasaya lineages. That is clearly implied in the above quotes, and in many other places. I cannot find anywhere that it is explained that Govindan is teaching something different.
