Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Now I lay me down to sleep,
and daddy comes once again to play,
with Vaseline he rubs real deep.

He tells me secrets I must keep
and what will happen if I dare say
what happens when I lay down to sleep.

I spread skinny legs without a peep
pretending I'm riding my bike far, far away
and daddy's finger puts Vaseline so deep.

My knees pump hard pedaling up a hill so steep,
and my bicycle seat hurts before I get halfway,
wishing I could lay me down to sleep.

Daddy says his promises he'll keep,
that he won't hurt me if I'm quiet and stay
still so he can put more Vaseline in deep.

I pedal faster, see my little sister, and yell leap
on the handlebars and we'll run away,
so we won't have to lay us down to sleep,
With Vaseline he so thoughtfully rubs deep.
