I am wondering if anyone has been to beaches in Brazil, specifically Rio and the resorts around Bahia, and can tell me how little a man can get away with wearing there. I've heard all different stories -- ranging from skimpy thongs being the norm, to open acceptance of gay nudity, to general prudish attitudes towards men who show the least bit of buttock. Maybe it varies a lot depending on where you go? I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of swimwear to pack for an upcoming vacation, also if there are any great beaches for thong-wearing men who are "in the know".

I can't think of anything more exciting than parading down a Brazilian beach in a tiny Koala g-string and exchanging glances with those perfectly formed men I've heard so much about!! Anyone with some experience out there who can advise me?
